Dudley’s Thomas Street broke the million-dollar mark for the first time last month and another home just listed is expected to continue the trend.

There was strong interest, both local and from out of town, before McKiernan Real Estate sold a “character cottage with a modern extension” for a street record $1.125 million.

Homes like the one on a large corner block in Dudley’s Thomas Street “don’t come up very often”, according to Andrew McKiernan.

Charlestown Growth Tipped to Continue

The continued growth in Charlestown is no surprise to Andrew McKiernan, who grew up in the Lake Macquarie suburb, and he cannot see it slowing down yet.

“It already has had good growth because the inner city is so expensive, so areas like Charlestown and Cardiff are proving popular,” Mr McKiernan, of McKiernan Real Estate, said.
